Meet Dr. Summey
Dr. Will Summey joined Southwest Florida Oral and Facial Surgery in July 2024, and is eager to continue offering high-quality and compassionate care to the Southwest Florida community. Dr. Summey is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology at North Carolina State University. He then went on to attend The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), graduating with honors after receiving the Hillenbrand-Lupton Award for Clinical Achievement and Academic Excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Following dental school, Dr. Summey moved to South Florida to pursue his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Broward Health Medical Center where he received exposure and training in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with special emphasis on trauma and reconstructive surgery, as well as pathology. In his final year of surgical training, he served as Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Service leading the head and neck trauma team at two high-volume Level-I trauma centers in Southeast Florida. Dr. Summey is excited to remain active in providing care to patients with facial trauma, including a wide range of facial fractures and soft tissue injuries, through the Lee Memorial Health System Trauma Program.
Dr. Summey is a candidate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association.
Dr. Summey’s current clinical practice encompasses the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including dental extractions, wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, all-on-4 surgery, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, hard and soft tissue pathology, trauma, and orthognathic (corrective) jaw surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Summey remains active in research with a current focus on the surgical management of patients with neuroendocrine disorders and associated craniofacial abnormalities. Dr. Summey also enjoys donating his time to local not-for-profit organizations such as Dentistry from the Heart, We Care of Lee County, and Project Dentists Care.

Dr. Summey is actively accepting new patients and is available for appointments five days a week.
